My name is Kayce Scinta. I was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. I have a Bachelors of Science in Dental Hygiene from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC Chapel Hill). I currently work in Concord, NC as a Registered Dental Hygienist.

I came to Peru for the first time as a HOP Volunteer the Summer of 2014 for one of the 5 week summer programs with Hands to Care. During this trip I discovered my passion for Dentistry while shadowing in a local hospital's dental clinic. Once I returned home I made the decision to apply for the Dental Hygiene (DH) program at UNC's School of Dentistry. I started the DH program in the Fall of 2015, after studying abroad for the Summer at King's College London in the UK. I graduated in the Spring of 2017 from UNC and moved home to Harrisburg, NC and to start my career as a Dental Hygienist.

After returning home from my first visit to Peru in 2014, I become a Campus Coordinator for Hands on Peru. I helped promote HOP and recruited volunteers. In 2017, I was offered my role as a Volunteer Coordinator and I gladly accepted! In December 2017 I traveled back to Peru to help coordinator the 10 HOP Volunteers during our December Session. And I got to visit CESAPU for the first time. And in 2019 I reunited a big brigade of dental hygienists of US and other countries, being able to deliver free dental services to the poorest areas of Trujillo.

I have always had a passion for volunteering and helping others. Hands on Peru gives me the opportunity to live out that passion everyday and to help others find that same passion in volunteering and the medical field. I love Hands on Peru with all my heart and plan to continue working for this wonderful non-profit for as long as I can
