¡Hola! My name is Grace, and I was a healthcare volunteer with Hands On Peru during the summer of 2026. I’m originally from Boston, Massachusetts, and I attend college in Connecticut, where I’m pursuing my studies as a pre-med student.
I decided to volunteer with Hands On Peru because I’m passionate about equitable healthcare and improving access to care for marginalized communities. I was also looking for meaningful clinical experience, but my time with HOP quickly became so much more than that.
I fell in love with the community of Huanchaco, my amazing host family, and the impactful work I was able to do at the clinic and throughout the community. The experience was incredibly meaningful to me and left such a lasting impression that I knew I wanted to stay involved with the program.
I’m so excited to now serve as a Campus Coordinator, helping connect more students with Hands On Peru and making sure they have the same incredible experience that I had. I can’t wait to meet you, hear about your interests, and hopefully welcome you into the HOP family!
