Hands on Peru works to improve global public health by engaging students & professionals from around the world in hands-on projects in our community public health center “CESAPU”. We offer exceptional experiences for young leaders who seek a platform for social impact, giving them the opportunities to develop a deeper understanding of global poverty. This internship is designed for passionate, dedicated  individuals who are dedicated to global health and development, to help research, design, implement, evaluate, and assist one of our community programs. Internship opportunities are available year-round and dates are flexible to the schedule of the intern.

Interns will be encouraged to choose from one of the CESAPU programs, in which they will dedicate their time and effort. They will be expected to take a leadership position, and if necessary, help fundraise money if they want to implement a large-scale program. They are expected to work at least 4-6 hours per day.

Duration: 1 month minimum in the dates of your choosing

Requirements: Intermediate / Conversational Spanish

Minimum donation: $3500 for the first month and $1600 for each following month

When you participate as a volunteer with Hands on Peru, your ground transportation, food, lodging and cultural activities are included in the donation. Additionally included in the amount is program implementation such as medications, equipment, health personnel, program coordinators, translators, support staff, and clinic sustainability. Charitable receipts can be given upon request.

*Note: As an intern, If you choose to partake in “Hands to Care” hospital and clinic rotations in months 2 & 3, it is an extra cost of $300 per month or $75 per week to cover the extra transportation and supervision fees that rotations require.
